AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) is a government organization of volunteers that partner with non-profit organizations to serve the greater community. This may mean building homes with Habitat for Humanity, painting a room for autistic children, or handing out food at the homeless shelter. On top of this, we may have the opportunity of “spiking” – setting up tent off campus – in the event of some natural disaster such as fire or earthquake relief. As of right now, I have no idea what this means for my team and I, but I will make sure to update everyone on our different projects.
