On January 31, 433 Eros, the second-largest Near Earth Object will pass Earth by only a mere 0.1790 astronomical units.

On May 20, an annular solar eclipse will take place, stretching from the Chinese coast to the western coast of the United States. A total solar eclipse will take place on November 13, visible in Northern Australia and the South Pacific.
