On Make A Difference Day, we helped out with an organic community garden by taking out all of the vegetation, adding it to the compost, and tilling the soil so it is ready in spring. Then, we headed over to an elementary school where they were playing soccer. We took down and moved all the soil and brick walls from a garden so that they will be ready when they build the garden somewhere else. The school changed its purpose (now it is a charter-type school) and so they wanted the garden to be more out in the open rather than behind a chain fence.
